August 2, 1776 — most delegates actually sign the Declaration

While July 4th is celebrated as the signing date, the engrossed parchment copy of the Declaration of Independence was signed by most delegates on August 2nd. John Hancock's famous oversized signature happened on the 4th, but the full signing took weeks to complete.
